Rauna Brage

2.5 way ported center-cannel. The name is from Nordic Mythology. Brage is son of Oden the greatest good and his occupation is as a bald always expressing himself in poems.
- A very suitable name for a center-channel indeed.

Rauna Brage is made in a brand new mold, we have produced. Every other model-design is from the 80´s!
So it is a pleasure for us after more than 40 years to become a serious choice for Hometheatre.

As it is a new kind of product for us, we have spent extra effort on this center-channel to make it outstandning in its pricerange, but it could also compete with the very best in the market. The weight is about 24 kg and we use the same driveunits as in our Vidar, but we use two times the 5,5 inch woofer. They are configured in a 2.5 way design so one is taking care of the deepear bass, and the other midbass and midrange. Together with the concrete which is internally damped, it makes the soundstage really large. If just listening to it without your side-speakers you still get a large soundstage “free” from the box.

The shape of the Brage as all Rauna is acoustically adjusted . The front baffle is sloped and acoustically-treated, ideally positioning the drivers for proper phase-alignment while at the same time minimizing early reflections. The sound produced by the aligned drivers will reach the listener at the same time.

The Brage is not a speaker that is heard, but rather a conduit through which uncolored and breathtakingly detailed music emerges.

The actual "foot" in holds the terminals for wire connections in the rear. The plinth of the Brage is made of MDF. Internally is a chamber and the rear is slot-ported, Bass performance is augmented by a slot shaped duct allowing for a considerable cross-sectional area while negating the issues of air turbulence. This makes unusually great impact in bass.

The Brage-speaker delivers clean and very natural sound with rapid and accurate bass, recreating the musical event in a precise and superbly wide soundstage. If you would like you can also buy two for stereo or three for hometheater-front setup.
